Achieving Independence in Weyauwega, WI

Angela Larson, a dedicated worker, spent years contributing to her community through her job at Wohlt Creamery. Recently, she found an opportunity to advance her career as a sanitation engineer at Tyson Foods. The job change offered new challenges and growth, but Angela faced an unexpected barrier when her car broke down. Unable to afford immediate repairs, she worried about how she would maintain her employment without reliable transportation. Fortunately, a former coworker introduced her to Feonix’s Waupaca County Catch-a-Ride (WCCAR) service, which quickly became a lifeline.

Angela recalls her first experience with WCCAR, noting how easy and seamless the process was. Although new to the mobile app, Angela soon learned to navigate it comfortably, appreciating the independence it provided. Today, she relies on WCCAR almost every day, crediting the service with helping her stay employed and supporting her financial stability.

The drivers with WCCAR, Angela shares, consistently arrive on time and treat her with respect and kindness. She appreciates their professionalism and the cleanliness of the vehicles, which make her daily commutes safe and pleasant. Angela also values the social connection she feels, often engaging in friendly conversations with her drivers that brighten her day. She describes the service as “a perfect 10” for both safety and reliability.

Beyond its practical benefits, WCCAR has helped Angela save nearly enough to repair her car, giving her hope and stability during a difficult period. Angela’s story underscores the power of reliable transportation to impact lives profoundly. WCCAR, made possible through the support of the Waupaca County Economic Development Corporation (WCEDC), has been instrumental in Angela’s journey. WCEDC’s mission to strengthen economic opportunities and foster a supportive environment for community growth aligns with Feonix’s commitment to ensuring everyone has the chance to succeed. We thank WCEDC for their invaluable partnership in making services like WCCAR a reality for Angela and many others in Waupaca County.
