Community Initiatives

Haywood County, Tennessee Transportation Assistance Hub

The Haywood County Transportation Assistance Hub is our newest program, featuring the Catch a Ride initiative with Feonix Microtransit and volunteer drivers!

Affordable and Convenient Rides
Catch a Ride is available at the rate of just $1 per leg of travel. Our service provides convenient pick-up within Haywood County and the Ford Philanthropy service area; including Brownsville, Nutbush, Covington, Stanton, Dancyville, Mason, and Somerville. Riders can be dropped off anywhere within Haywood County or in any of the seven neighboring counties: Crockett, Fayette, Hardeman, Lauderdale, Madison, Shelby, and Tipton.

Reduced-Cost Ride Eligibility
To qualify for reduced-cost rides, all riders must complete and submit our intake enrollment form: https://form.jotform.com/242814550116046.

Volunteer Drivers: A Community-Focused Approach
Haywood County Volunteer Drivers are community members passionate about helping their neighbors access essential transportation. Similar to rideshare services, they use their personal vehicles, are trained by local staff, and undergo background checks to ensure safety and reliability. Volunteer drivers are primarily assigned to overflow trips when Feonix Transit is unavailable.

Earlier Booking Request
We are now requesting that you please schedule your ride at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance.  This helps us coordinate trips better, make sure drivers and volunteers are ready to go and we’re able to help as many people as possible. If urgent healthcare situations arise, we will do our best to accommodate if capacity allows. As we enhance our technology in the coming months and work with our volunteer team, we may be able to reduce it back to 24 hours notice.

Volunteer Notifications
Volunteers will get notified about trips that are available 2 days ahead of time and will have 24 hours to confirm. If a volunteer can’t take the ride, you will still have 24 hours to make other plans.

App Updates

When you book a ride using the app, you’ll see Feonix Microtransit as the only option for now.

If we can’t find a Feonix driver for your ride, we’ll still check if a volunteer can help, especially for short trips!

Weekend Rides
All Saturday and Sunday rides will be covered by volunteer drivers, and they will be able to confirm rides, based on their availability,  across the full service area from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Feonix Mobility Wallet
Feonix wallets are the best way to book rides and are now strongly encouraged for you to make payments, instead of charging your credit or debit card for each trip. You can still use your card, however, if you are using the wallet and your trip needs to be changed or canceled, your funds will go right back into your wallet—no more waiting days for a refund, and you can rebook instantly. Rider wallets can hold a minimum of $5. To add funds, just give us a call at the number below!

Our COSC team is available to help you with any questions.

Please call 731-513-6398 Monday through Sunday 5:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
