Before joining the Feonix – Mobility Rising perinatal transportation program, Endia Morgan Turner was doing everything she could to keep her family afloat. A devoted mom living in Macomb County, she was raising three active stepchildren with a newborn on the way—and navigating every day with limited transportation options.
As a low-income parent, Endia faced daily challenges just getting her family where they needed to be. Appointments for the baby, school events, food pantries, clothing closets—so many essential resources were just out of reach. She often found herself having to choose between needs, not because of money alone, but because she simply couldn’t get there. Walking and public transportation were her only options, and they weren’t always reliable—especially while pregnant and managing three young boys.
Then she was enrolled in the perinatal transportation program through Feonix, and things started to shift. For the first time in a long while, Endia felt relief. The program helped remove the stress and worry that had been weighing her down. With transportation support, she was able to make regular trips to the grocery store, visit local food pantries, attend school events, counseling sessions, and medical appointments. She could access baby items and community services that had always been just beyond reach—not because they weren’t available, but because she now had the means to get there.
Feonix didn’t just provide rides; it opened doors. For Endia and her family, it meant the chance to participate, to plan, and to breathe a little easier. It meant no longer feeling left out or left behind. Most importantly, it allowed her to be fully present for her children—without the added stress of wondering how she’d make it from one place to the next.
She often says she holds the Feonix program close to her heart. For Endia, it was more than a service—it was a support system. And for families like hers, that kind of care makes all the difference.
“I’m truly grateful,” she says, “to everyone who makes Feonix possible. It’s been a blessing for our family.”
